Turning a hobby into cash

The other day hubby and I were speaking, and he was happy that I had found a new way to relax (again) and stop thinking about work. A little down time is well needed. He was shocked to see that after 3 months! I was still on board. You see I get bored very easily. He tries to support my ventures but knows that they won't last very long.

So what is this new hobby you ask? Digital Scrapbooking! It's not that new, but so far I am having so much fun jazzing up our photos...not to mention the collection of free stuff from the web. Hubby did a data analysis on our internet usage and was shocked at what I had pulled down. But that IS a different story.

Digital scrapbooking gives me a freedom to create without wasting...green scrapping. I have done paper scrapbooking in the past but the supplies got very expensive and if I cut the paper wrong, well you know how that goes.

So hubby saw some of my projects and was very impressed. I have even done some scrapbooking for some of my colleagues at work. Always seeing the dollar sign, hubby wanted to know if I could make some money doing this. I really don't want to spoil another hobby by turning it into a business so I told him that I was not interested. Another thing I noted is that when I create for others I feel pressured and those projects don't come out well. Now that may sound lame but I really don't want someone to give me their pictures and hate the final product. Will they pay me? I would have already invested my time and creative juices so I should be paid...but that may turn out to be a legal matter.

Yes I too would like the extra cash, who wouldn't? But if I start to take in jobs would it still be a hobby?

The Pear Tree

I love pears (avocados). So yet again I have decided to grow a pear tree from the pit. Greedy me started with two. Roots have developed and shoots are appearing. It's time to pot them.
I also need to find someone with a yard space to give...any offers.

Reunion Goals

My graduating class from high school wants to host a reunion after 21 years...now I have no problem with that apart from the expansion outwards and a few gray hairs I still look the same. I may not look the same to my former classmates but to me I look the same.
Now I am not much for creating the perfect image of myself...what you see is what you get...straight up. My mother always said your mouth soon get you into trouble. Now I have heard from other past students that they don't hear what is happening with the plans...so if you don't hear ask. Other questions that have been asked include can we bring our spouse...since I don't got one it don't matter to me...my response if you can afford to why not. Unless your spouse will use information garnered at this reunion in a court of law against you in the future (near for some of you) then why should you be afraid of your past...it's what helped to mold you into the person you are today.
I remember some hotties from my school days that I have recently seen, what happened. I was never one of the in-crowd but I was at least one person removed from someone who was. I wonder how many of us still remain in contact with those who we were so close to back in the know the names of my friends back then but where are they now?
Sheryl...I know you went to Florida, Tricia...are you still in JA, Andrea...I know got married and recently had a baby, Andrew T...got married and baby on the way (soon to land), Richard L...you were like a bro to me, Nellie...the badmington king...see I still remember and I do keep some form of link it may not be direct but it is there. I am just hoping that that friendship which was once shared can be recreated and continue to grow into a new era.
