Turning a hobby into cash

The other day hubby and I were speaking, and he was happy that I had found a new way to relax (again) and stop thinking about work. A little down time is well needed. He was shocked to see that after 3 months! I was still on board. You see I get bored very easily. He tries to support my ventures but knows that they won't last very long.

So what is this new hobby you ask? Digital Scrapbooking! It's not that new, but so far I am having so much fun jazzing up our photos...not to mention the collection of free stuff from the web. Hubby did a data analysis on our internet usage and was shocked at what I had pulled down. But that IS a different story.

Digital scrapbooking gives me a freedom to create without wasting...green scrapping. I have done paper scrapbooking in the past but the supplies got very expensive and if I cut the paper wrong, well you know how that goes.

So hubby saw some of my projects and was very impressed. I have even done some scrapbooking for some of my colleagues at work. Always seeing the dollar sign, hubby wanted to know if I could make some money doing this. I really don't want to spoil another hobby by turning it into a business so I told him that I was not interested. Another thing I noted is that when I create for others I feel pressured and those projects don't come out well. Now that may sound lame but I really don't want someone to give me their pictures and hate the final product. Will they pay me? I would have already invested my time and creative juices so I should be paid...but that may turn out to be a legal matter.

Yes I too would like the extra cash, who wouldn't? But if I start to take in jobs would it still be a hobby?
